Mindful Play

The Parlour is play-money throughout — no currency in any direction. Even so, time and attention are precious, and we take seriously the wellbeing of every person who steps through our doors.

A. The promises we make to members

• · Membership is reserved for adults aged 21 and over.
• · We do not, and will not, accept payment of any kind.
• · A discreet session clock is visible at every cabinet.
• · A gentle pause prompt appears once every sixty minutes of continuous play.
• · Members may set a self-imposed pause of one day, one week, one month, or indefinite.
• · The concierge will close any account on request, with no questions asked.

B. Signs worth noticing

If play of any kind — here or elsewhere — begins to feel like a chase rather than a pastime, if it interrupts sleep or strains friendships, or if you find yourself returning out of habit rather than pleasure, those are quiet signals worth listening to. There is no shame in stepping away for a while, and there are kind people ready to help.
